Free barcode label maker

Paste your products, pick a label size and download a PDF of barcode labels for Avery sheets or a label printer. UPC, EAN, Code 128 and QR.

One label per line: name, price, barcode, copies. Paste from a spreadsheet or type with commas.

Bar widths are matched to the printer's dots so thin bars stay distinct.

How to make barcode labels

  1. Type or paste one product per line: name, price, barcode and how many copies. From a spreadsheet, copy the four columns and paste.
  2. Pick your label size: an Avery sheet for a laser or inkjet printer, or a roll size for a label printer.
  3. Check the preview, then download the PDF and print it at actual size.

Only the name or the barcode is needed. Leave the price out and the label shows just the name and barcode. Long names shrink to fit before they're shortened. Sizes and layouts for each sheet are in the label size guide.

UPC, EAN or Code 128?

UPC-A (12 digits) and EAN-13 (13 digits) are retail product numbers that end in a check digit. Pick one of them as the barcode type and the maker tells you when a number doesn't add up. Code 128 holds letters, numbers and dashes, so it suits your own SKUs. More in SKU vs UPC vs EAN, and if a printed code won't scan, see why barcode labels don't scan.

Common questions

Is this barcode label maker free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no watermark. Each PDF holds up to 300 labels; make another for more.
Are my product names and codes uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is drawn in your browser. What you paste never leaves your computer and isn't saved.
Which barcode type should I use?
Use UPC-A or EAN-13 for products that already carry those numbers from the manufacturer or GS1. For your own SKUs with letters or dashes, use Code 128. Automatic picks UPC or EAN when the number is valid and Code 128 otherwise.
How do I line the labels up on an Avery sheet?
Print the PDF at actual size (100%, not fit to page). Print one page on plain paper first and hold it against a label sheet to check the alignment before using labels.
Can I print labels straight from my Shopify products instead?
Yes. The Crisp Barcode Labels app reads names, variants, prices, sale prices, SKUs and barcodes from your Shopify products, so there's nothing to type. It's free for 200 labels a month.
