Crisp Labels questions and answers
Plain answers about what the app does and doesn't do.
- How do I print barcode labels from Shopify?
- Install Crisp Labels, press Add products and pick the products or variants you need, set how many labels each gets, choose a label size, then press Print. The app makes a PDF sized to your labels. Print it at 100% (Actual size) from any printer.
- Do I need a label printer?
- No. Avery sheet labels print on an ordinary laser or inkjet printer. Roll labels need a label printer. Either way the app gives you a PDF, so you print it the same way you print any document.
- Which label sizes does Crisp Labels support?
- Avery 5160 and 8160 (1 × 2-5/8 in, 30 per sheet), Avery 5167 and 8167 (1/2 × 1-3/4 in, 80 per sheet), Avery L7160 (63.5 × 38.1 mm, 21 per sheet), Avery L7651 (38.1 × 21.2 mm, 65 per sheet), common roll sizes up to 4 × 6 in, and any custom roll size from 10 to 220 mm wide.
- Which barcode types can it print?
- UPC-A and EAN-13 when a product's Barcode field holds a valid code, Code 128 for SKUs and other values, and QR codes that link to the product page.
- Does Crisp Labels create barcodes for products that don't have one?
- Not as UPC or EAN numbers. It prints the code already in a product's Barcode field, or it can print the SKU as a Code 128 barcode. It never assigns or changes barcode numbers.
- Does it change my products?
- No. It asks Shopify only for permission to read products: names, variants, vendors, SKUs, barcodes and prices. It can't edit anything in your store.
- How much does it cost?
- Free for 200 labels a month. Unlimited labels cost $6.99 a month, billed through Shopify, and you can change or cancel from the app.
- Can I print on a sheet that's partly used?
- Yes. Set Start at label to the first empty position and the app skips the used ones.
- What if my labels print slightly off-centre?
- Use Nudge right and Nudge down to move everything by a few millimetres. The nudge is saved with your label settings.
- Who makes Crisp Labels?
- EMBE LABS LLC. Questions go to team@embelabs.xyz.
